French Regions

People enjoy the three main parts of the Midi Pyrenees- the mountains, the countryside or the calm of the centrally located Gers. Within the Midi Pyrenees you can visit Lot which includes the Lot valley, the Gramat animal park and an array of pretty villages. This region is very scenic and further from Lot there are ancient bastide towns and the red brick and medieval villages such as Gallaic. For a relaxing holiday with a lot of preserved and natural attractions this region is ideal.

In Alsace there are other attractions such as the ancient castles and the Vosges ranges. There are many historical attractions such as the museums of Mulhouse, the chapel at Elfig and the abbey at Murbach. The only WW11 concentration camp in France, Le Struthof, is also part of this region as contrastingly are the three villages considered the most beautiful in France. If you are interested in history and culture then this region has a comprehensive offering.

Of course if you wanted a seaside holiday then you might want to consider Corsica as it has two hundred beaches- reputedly the best the Mediterranean has to offer. Again this is a place of beauty and like the other regions it is also a visual feast.
